Monday Rainy.
Ruth & Smith ate dinner with me then we went down to Pearls. Aunt Becky isn't doing much good.
Footnote: Ruth Smith Reasor (Nadine was her other name, born Oct. 11, 1926) was married to Estelle's youngest brother, Everette (B-March 29, 1925). Smith Kevin is their youngest son (b 9-20-62) and they lived just across the road. Pearl Reasor Barkley is a cousin and if any of you know how they are related, let me know and I will pass it on. Aunt Becky was Pearl's mother. I remember going to their big house on the hill about 4-5 miles away from Deep Springs. They lived on the back road that would take you to Woodway, I think.
I talked to Mother today and she is doing just fine. Her lady had been there to clean and do her laundry and that always makes her feel good to have clean sheets. We talked about Janie Slemp Williams and she could not tell me if Janie Slemp's father, Elbert Slemp might have been related some way to Uncle Hop Slemp. She said that Janie is living in a retirememt home in Johnson City as Rosemary had said. She also said she thinks C.B. Slemp and his wife are living in the same place as Janie. Anyway, I am thinking that James and Julia were just friends of hers from college and there is no relation. But I don't know any of that for sure. Elbert Slemp married Valeria Ely, Millard Ely's sister. Millard is Estelle's husband so Janie was a first cousin to Rosemary, Redge and Janice.
Nice day here, my hyacinth (spelling?) are out of the ground about 1" - they always do that then they get snowed on a couple of times. Sun was nice and warm today. Going to be nice this week until about Friday then it will turn cold again. My gas and electric bill was the highest it has ever been so I will be happy to see some warmer weather.
