Sat. Warmer.
I walked over to Ruth's awhile. Then stayed home the rest of the day. Millard and I went to the ball game tonite at Dryden. Don Hobbs (Mrs. Oteys Brother) died this morn.
Footnote: Ruth is her sister-in-law and lives just across the road. Millard is her husband. Dryden is a small town about 6 miles away. I have heard her talk about Mrs. Otey but I don't know how she knows her.
My Note: I had a note from Sally Musick regarding the entry a few days ago about Glenn Williams and Janie Slemp Williams. This is what she said, "Glen Williams was a fellow Milligan grad about the time (approx..) that mom and dad were there. Dad graduated in 1938, mom in 1940. So they knew each other, were sort of friends (not real close, but friends.) Glenn Williams became a judge, as you may recall. He just died about 1-2 years ago. He came to either mom or dad's funeral (maybe both) but had a driver because he lost vision years ago. Janie Slemp is related to mom through her dad's side of the family, but this one requires more research on my part."
So that is the connection and story on Janie Slemp Williams and Glenn Williams. Thanks Sally, I love finding out these things. Please, send me any info you all have on anybody that I mention and don't know anything about. I will pass it along. This must be what those old reporters must have felt like when they were gathering the local gossip for the Powell Valley News or the Post.
Pat, Janie Slemp is my first cousin. the daughter of Valeria and Elbert Slemp. Valeria is my Daddys sister. You may remember C B Slemp her youngest brother. She lives in the rest home In Johnson City now. I don' know the connection to Sally but the Slemps are like the Reasors so it is a possibility
