Footnote:  Harold Shuler and Roy Shuler are brothers who grew up in Seminary - a small farming community about 6 miles from Deep Springs.  Harold Shuler lives in Deep Springs and Roy Shuler lives in Big Stone Gap.    Jennings is her brother who lives nearby.  Mr. and Mrs. Jake Parsons are neighbors and friends of theirs.  I think they were older members of the community and she was always checking up on the older neighbors.

Another beautiful day here in Kentucky.  I am going to Cincinnati this afternoon to take a class with a group of my friends.  We are going to learn how to coil fabric into baskets/bowls.  We will sew them together by hand, not on the sewing machine which is what Rachel does so well.   Should be fun.  At least it gets me out of the house.  Hope each of you are having a good day.

Another beautiful day in Kentucky.  Clear blue sky and warm sunshine but the air is crisp and cool.  I'll be working outside on the porch today - painting some fabric to use in my journals and dolls.   Hope you all are having good weather and a happy day.

Monday, 1980   Rain to clear.  Wendi & I went to Aunt Rosalee's and to Zora Green's for eggs and got Aunt Rosalee some groceries.  Jennings & Roy came.  We went to Norton this eve to see about some things.  I picked beans late.

Footnote:  Wendi is her granddaughter.  Aunt Rosalee is married to Millard Baker who is the half-brother of Estelle's mother, Lula Baker.  Zora Green is a neighbor.  Jennings is her brother who lives nearby and Roy Shuler is her brother-in-law who lives in Big Stone Gap, about 9 miles away.  Roy has a farm near Estelle's house and he stops there often.  Norton is a town about 15 miles away.

My note:    We have had some beautiful weather.  Yesterday, we had a celebration for Leslie's graduation.  I cooked all day and Leah and Kenny got the back yard remake finished and it looks lovely.  I would post some pictures if I could just get the hang of doing that.  There was lots of Leslie's friends, my family and Kenny's family - and there is a lot of them.    We had barbecue, slaw, pasta salad and I made potato salad, baked beans and a lot of other things.    We had a lot left over.  The weather looks lovely again today - no humidity.  Got to get outside today.  Hope you all are well and have a good day.

Nice weather here today, it has rained some for the last two days and has cooled things off a little.  I am still at Leah's house and we are getting ready for a big party for Leslie's graduation.  It will be Saturday and Leah and Kenny have worked for a month on the back yard.  Nice fire pit and water fall with lights.  Rachel and I will be cooking Leslie's favorite foods.    I am going today across the ferry to pick up Hope and spend the rest of the day with her.    We are going to my house and I will try to straighten up some things.  I sure had a mess going on before I got sick.    Hope all is well with each of you.  Today is Josh and Sacha's wedding anniversary - Congratulations and many more happy years together.

My note:  I find it interesting that she calls all the children by name except for mine.  She did it yesterday and a couple of days before that.     My computer was acting funny today so I had to turn it off and wait awhile which is why this post is so late.   Leah and I went to this huge antique/flea market this morning.  So many booths and so many people.  Janice,  there was more jewelry than I have ever seen anywhere.  It wasn't all cheap though.  It is held at the Boone County fairgrounds, a short distance from Leah's house.  It is held on the 3rd. Sunday of each month, May to October.  If any of you ever want to come and go, just let me know.   It was pretty hot there today.  Hope you are all well.

Sat. 1980  Fair, hot.  Richard Damer stoped in and stayed for lunch.  Harold Shuler & Va. were here a while.  Elizabeth got sick about 1 o'clock.  We got her to Penn. to hospital, in intensive care.  Probably a heart attack.

Footnote:  Richard Damer, I think, was a neighbor and did some work for them.  I remember hearing his name but don't know much about him.  Harold Shuler is a neighbor and Virginia, his wife, is a cousin to Estelle.   Elizabeth Reasor is Jennings'  (Estelle's brother)  wife and they live nearby.  They took her to Pennington Gap which has the closest hospital.   Sounds serious if she has had a heart attack.

My footnote:   It is a beautiful day here in the neighborhood, no humidity and blue sky.  Rachel has taken the day off and is coming to spend  it with us.  Hope and Dave are on a camping trip with a large group of friends.  It is an annual trip that is for fathers and children only.  Wives are not invited so Rachel has a free weekend and she is so excited.   We are going to drive to Dry Ridge, Ky. - about 30 minutes away to a big quilt shop.  It is off the beaten track and on a big farm.  Been a couple of years since we were there.  They always have interesting fabrics.   I am feeling just fine now after 7 weeks of mending.   I am about ready to go back home.  But I may have to stay here until after the gallbladder surgery.  I will have that done sometime in August.    Hope all is well with all you people who read this blog.
