Sat. Cloudy coolish
I stayed in nearly all day. Was over to Everette's a minute.
Footnote: Everette is her brother who lives across the road.
My note: I am back from visiting with Mother. She is doing just fine and went everywhere with me and ate good. I had a terrible trip as far as the trip was but enjoyed the visit with her. On the way down, it started raining hard about Florence, Ky and stopped about Berea. Rained so hard that I pulled of 3 times. When I got near London, the car was making a loud noise and I took the exit but had to stop before I could get to the BP station. Cars are flying by but I got out and had a flat on the right rear. I called 911 and the nice guy said he would send a tow truck but then he said he would call the police which he did and he showed up. I had to unpack the car to get the spare - which was in good shape - and he got the bolts off but couldn't get the tire off - rusted tight. Called another policeman who just kicked the tire and left. Then he called Ky emergency road service and he showed up about 45 minutes later. We are standing on the side of the road all this time and I am scared that someone is texting and going to mow us down. Guy sprayed some stuff on the rust and finally got it off, put the spare on and let me follow him to a tire shop in London. Very nice people and put a new tire on for me - $120.00 and 3 hours later I was on my way. Started raining hard again at Corbin and rained hard to Knoxville. I was exhausted by the time I got to Kingsport.
I'll finish the story in the next entry. It only gets better!!!
