March 26, 1981 Aunt Estelle wrote

Thursday 1981  Fair  Jennings and I planted potatoes, onions, cabbage, lettuce, mustard & radishes.  Gene Lipps was here nearly all evening.

Footnote:  Jennings is her brother.  Seems a little early to be planting since she was just talking about snow and how cold it was, but I am sure that all they planted came up and was really good.  Gene Lipps is a neighbor/friend who seems to come by pretty often.

My note:   I am driving to Florence, Ky. to meet Leah, Kenny and Max for dinner at Red Robin.  I have not been there - I think it is an expensive hamburger joint.     Max has made it necessary for the family to have dinner together every Wednesday - no phones or electronics allowed - just time to talk.  It is very interesting some of the things he wants to talk about.    He has a list posted on the fridge or all the restaurants he wants to go to.   It is long and they have been doing this since school started.  They have been many places and more places to go - none of them twice.  Good they live in a place where everybody wants to go out to eat, so there are plenty of good restaurants - every chain you can think of and a few local joints.  I am taking a break from doll making as I am getting ready for a 3 day show this weekend in Rising Sun, Indiana - about 45 minutes west of here on the river.  It is a quilt show so most of the women sew and I don't sell that many dolls as they all think they can make one themselves.  I take my old fabrics and quilt books and that is what I sell mostly.
