Sat.  Fair hot.  Worked in house.  About the middle of the evening we went to Janice Gails and up on the hill to Smitty's yard sale.

Footnote:   Janice is her daughter who lives in Big Stone Gap, Va., about 9 miles away.   Smitty was a family that owned a department store in Big Stone.  They lived in the neighborhood where I grew up so I don't know what hill she is talking about.    The Smitty's were an older couple and they adopted a son and his name was Holly.  I think that is the story.  Anyway, they gave Holly everything he wanted including a fast car in which he was killed.  He wasn't very old - just out of his teens I think.   I remember buying Sunday Best shoes at Smitty's store and paid $4.00  a pair.   I had a closet full of Smitty's shoes.     Hope you all have a good day and enjoy this wonderful fall like weather.   I am going back home today to get some more dolls finished then out to eat dinner with a bunch of my friends.  I will stay all night at my house and Sat,, Rachel, Hope and I will go downtown to our favorite fabric shop, St. Theresa Textile Trove, and Rachel will find her birthday present - FABRIC.
