November 6, 1979, Tuesday Aunt Estelle wrote

Clear.  We had Wendi.  She & I picked up Aunt Rosalee and went to Pennington for groceries.  We walked up to Jennings.  Roy & Edith, Pearl, Gene and Val were all in.  To WMU tonite.  We went to vote.

Footnote:   Wendi is her granddaughter who lived in Big Stone Gap, Va.   Aunt Rosalee is married to Millard Baker, Estelle's mother's half-brother.  Pennington Gap, Va.  is a town about 9 miles West of Deep Springs .    Jennings is her brother who lives nearby.  Edith is her sister who lives in Big Stone and Roy is Edith's husband.   Pearl Barkley is her cousin who lives about  5 miles away.  Gene and Val are people who take care of Pearl.   WMU is the Womens Missionary Union that was a part of the Missionary Baptist church in Deep Springs where she belonged.     Wish she had said who was running and what they voted for in  1979.
