Clear, cloudy. Cold. I had to take part of my machine to Big Stone. Got the car greased while there and shopped a little. Pearl, Gene & Val, allso Roy Shuler were in this evening.
Footnote: I think she is talking about her sewing machine. Big Stone Gap, Va. is a small town about 9 miles northeast of Deep Springs. I remember the expression "having the car greased" but not sure just what they did to the car - was that when they changed the oil?? Pearl Barkley is her cousin and she has Gene and Val to take her places as she can't drive. Roy Shuler is her brother-in-law, married to her youngest sister, Edith.
Roy Shuler was my Daddy and Edith ( who was given only one name and resents her parents for that to this day) is my Mother. They lived in Big Stone Gap where I was raised.
