Sept. 11, 1979, Tuesday Aunt Estelle wrote

Clear.  Foggy again, got hot by noon.  I baked pumpkin pies.  Took Aunt Rosalee to grocery store, then back to Dryden to shop a little and over to Betty's for milk.  Tonite we had missionary society.

Footnote:     Love to have a slice of that pumpkin pie.   Aunt Rosalee is her relative - married to Millard Baker who is the half-brother of Lula Baker Reasor(her mother).    I remember there were a couple stores in Dryden  - must be where she was shopping.  Betty is her neighbor and she gets milk from her.    Missionary society is a group of women that are part of the church.

Happy Birthday to Wendi!!!

For those of you that are reading this and are related to the Reasor family, I want you to know about one of our cousins.   Stephen Reasor's wife, Anna, has a grandson that is fighting cancer.   He is 14 and in the 8th. grade at Big Stone Gap elementary school.  Currently he is in St. Jude's hospital in Memphis, Tn.  fighting Osteo-Sarcoma.  His name is Evan Rasnick. The people in Big Stone/East Stone and all the area have been doing everything they can to help support the family during this time.    When Evan was told he had cancer his comment was "God's got this".  The people in town have made t-shirts, bracelets, yard posters and all sorts of other fund-raising things with this quote on it.    Evidently he has many people at St. Jude's wearing the  bracelet.    He had surgery yesterday (Sept. 10) and they removed a tumor, so he is in ICU now recovering.  I think the cancer is in his leg .  His mother is Cindy (Anna's daughter) and his Dad is Tim Rasnick.  You can "friend" Cindy-Tim Rasnick on Facebook and see her updates.   They have been in Memphis for several months already and have a long way to go.     Stephen and Anna are also on facebook if you want to send them a message.
