December 24, 1981 Aunt Estelle wrote

Thurs.  1981  Fair, but everything wet.

I checked Jennings house.  Baked a cake.  We have Wendi.  Janice come early for her.  We opened our Christmas.  All 3 kids got me a pleated skirt.  Janice got a velvet  jacket.  Much more than I deserved.  I went to Pennington late.  Visited the nursing home, Mrs. Parsons & the Hop Slemps.

Footnote:  Jennings is her brother and he has gone to visit his son, Kenneth and family  in Iowa for the Holidays.  Wendi is her granddaughter.  Janice is her daughter, Wendi's Mother.  I'm not sure who Mrs. Parsons is or the Hop Slemps.  I'm sure some of you know them.

Merry Christmas to each of you and may the new year bring peace,  hope and good health for you and your family.
