Monday, Fair, hot. I washed , mowed and hoed in the garden. We went to Ben-Hur to get some welding done on the lawn mower. Stopped at Hospital to see Pearl. She is a little better. To revival tonight.
Footnote: Ben Hur is a small community about 15 miles west of her house. Hospital is in Pennington Gap and Pearl is her cousin.
Footnote about my life: Most of you know but I will recap what I can remember. I was sick after Leslie's graduation. I slept most of last Saturday, May 11. On Sunday, May 12, Leah came to check on me and when she walked in she said ,"you are yellow" . So we went to the nearest emergency room at the hospital. I was in severe pain in my stomach.
After many tests, they decided I had a gallstone that was loose and blocking the natural flow of fluids between pancreas, liver and gall bladder. They wanted to know how much liquor I drink - liver a little enlarged. They admitted me and the ball got dropped somewhere between stomach dr. and gall bladder dr. So I got no attention Monday. still in pain and yellow.
Finally late Tue they decided they would remove the gall stone which they did. When I woke up still in recovery, I told them I could not breathe and the nurse said "Yes you can". So they took me to my room and now they call in a cardiologists to clear me for removal of the gall bladder on Monday . He looks at xrays and orders other tests which I had a really hard time getting thru as I my breathing is getting worse. They did the tests and sent me home about 3 PM Wed. I had told everyone who came in the room that I couldn't breathe and had a fever. they gave me two Tylenol and sent me home. Leslie took me and stayed with me till about 9 PM. During the time she is there, I am breathing harder and harder and my feet are swelling.
I fell asleep on the sofa for about an hour. Went upstairs to bed and was so breathless I thought I couldn't make it. I never was able to lay down. Sat on side of bed till 6 AM and called Leah. Leslie came and took me back to emergency room. Heart beat is out of control going as high as 210. Leslie thought I was going to die but she never let me know. They took more xrays and said I had had a heart attack.
They got me to a room where I was not allowed to move . Finally they got a couple IV going and it begin to slow the heart rate down but it was in the high 170
most of the day. I couldn't lay down all day. I began to feel better about 11PM and fell asleep. The nurse came in at midnight and said the heart got back in rhythm about midnight.
So about 1PM Thursday they did a angigram (spelling) a found my heart is one big mess and needs a lot of work. They put me in an ambulance immediately and sent me to the Mercy Fairfield hospital. I am here now and just resting as they can't do the open heart until they are sure the gall bladder mess is healed. Hoping the surgery will take place on Tuesday. Will keep you posted.
