May 1, 1980 Aunt Estelle wrote

Thursday.  Clear to cloudy.  I washed three loads of clothes.  Visited Minnie Hobbs this eve.  Went to Lizzie's for eggs.  Finished mowing the lawn.

Footnote:  Minnie Hobbs is a neighbor and fellow church member.  Lizzie is her neighbor also and she must have a lot of chickens.  She was part of a large family that lived on the back road - the Sturgills.

My note:   When Mother and I went on our outing thru Olinger, we came out at Dry Branch (near Pennington).  We drove up  to where Richard Shuler is living in his mother's (Aunt Virginia) house on the "back road".  We drove from his house on the back road and came out where Aunt Estelle's house used to be.
As we drove by, I noticed  a "For  Sale" sign on the old, old run down Sturgill house.  Lot of houses build up around that neighborhood - Lizzie's house is still there.   Albert Giraffe's son was hoeing in his garden - looked just like Albert.    The space where Uncle Jennings had his garden had been plowed and looked like it was ready to be planted.  Uncle Jennings trailer is still there and the grounds around it looked very nice.
Just thought I'd let you all know about the place for sale in case you are interested...  The mountain behind the house is big, tall and beautiful - full of walnut trees I bet.
