Sunday 1980. Rain all day Cool. Janice and Wendi were home and we rode up to the Fabric shop and down to Magic Mart. We didn't go to church tonite.
Footnote: Janice and Wendi are her daughter and granddaughter. The Fabric Shop was near Big Stone Gap and I think it was the shop Barbara Ward. She had fabrics, trims and lots of other things. Magic Mart was a general store, I think, located in or near Pennington Gap .
Other info:

May 22, 1978 Everette 53 died at home alone. Was laying under the walnut tree when Ruth come from work. Broke all our hearts. I had visited with him 4 hrs. earlier. We set under the shade tree at the kitchen door.
That is so sad, I have very fond memories of Uncle Everette. He was such a kind, gentle man. I never knew that Aunt Estelle was the last person to see him alive. When I was a kid at home, Mother would fix a big lunch - mostly soup beans, cornbread and fried potatoes and Uncle Everette would walk with Daddy from the Pet Dairy and eat lunch. They called it dinner then but it was about noon. When I was old enough, Mother would let me make the cornbread and Uncle Everette would always say it was the best cornbread he had ever had. I never heard an angry word from him or ever saw him seem even unhappy. We all still miss him very much. He was a wonderful man taken too soon.
