Rain. I cooked some. Hoped Redge would come, but he didn't. We went up to the bank opening, out to Janice a minute & back by funeral home. Mrs. Scalf died at 2 Friday morning. Late Betty Jean & family come in and later I went to the Magic Mart & Cas Walkers. Lizzie, Maudie Ellen & Jessica were out late.
Footnote by Pat: Redge is her son who lives in Charlotte, N.C. Janice is her daughter who lives in Big Stone Gap, about 9 miles to the East. Mrs. Scalf is Redge's mother-in-law and she lived in Big Stone Gap, too. That is probably why they went to the funeral home. Betty Jean is her niece - the daughter of Jennings, her brother. They live in Arkansas and come for a visit with Jennings & Elizabeth. Magic Mart & Cas Walkers are grocery stores. Lizzie, Maudie Ellen & Jessica are neighbors.
