I washed and ironed.  Junior Tritt (Wahoo) died today while driving.  His Mother was injured as the car wrecked.

Footnote:  I can hardly read her writing for Junior's last name so Tritt may not be right.  I remember there was some people with that name in her neighborhood, but I don't know anything about them.

My note:   I had a really nice week of training with this lady from the Netherlands.  She spoke English with a heavy Dutch accent and she mumbled but I think I understood most of what she said.  I think I need to have my hearing checked.  I learned some new tricks about embroidery that I can use in my work.  I lived in a dorm and had a nice roommate from Orange, California.  The food was extremely delicious, mostly all from farmers in the area and the chef was excellent.   So it was a nice week.  I wish I could do that every year but it is expensive so I have to wait a couple of years before I can do it again.

Janice & I went to see Aunt Rose early this morn.  This evening Sandra and I went to town, up to Mrs. Otey's and up to Fletcher's where  Grandma Cole lay corpse.

Footnote:  Janice is her daughter and Aunt Rose is her mother's half-sister.  Sandra (b. 11/2/54) is her niece who lives across the road.  I don't know who Mrs. Otey is other that a good friend of hers as she visits her often.   I guess Fletchers was a funeral home or Grandma was in someone's home - that happened as I remember.  The body would be brought back to the home and people would stand watch around the clock until burial.     I don't know who Grandma Cole was and/or if she was a relative or someone from the neighborhood.

My note:   I am going to be in school all week so I am going to go ahead and enter all the news for next week.  I hope you don't mind.  I won't have my laptop as I am trying to escape the social media  world for a few days.    I will be living in a dorm and  in school on campus studying embroidery with my hero from the Netherlands.   It is a very special treat for me and I have been looking forward to this since January.

Rosemary & family left this morn.  Janice & Sammy went to Richlands.  I washed and took the clothes to Penn. to dry.

Footnote:   Rosemary is her daughter who lives in New Mexico.  She is married to Carey Drew and they have Greg and Shauna.  The trip is very long and I don't know how many days it took them to drive it.  Janice is her daughter and I am guessing she is in school in Richlands, Va.  or she has finished school and is working.    Pennington Gap is a town about 8 miles away where they have a laundry mat - her dryer must have been broken.

My note:   I have been in another show and this one was the worst ever.   I drove 150 miles northeast on I-71 toward Columbus, Ohio and on to Granville, Ohio.  Two things I found out the town is famous for - Dennison College and the corner in town that has a church of different religion on each of the 4 corners.    Dennison is a private, very expensive school.  I was told by my neighbor at the show, that " you have to have a lot of money to live in this town."  She is married to a Dr.    She didn't do any better that I did, she didn't sell anything.    If they had money, they left it at home.  It was hot and stormed both days.  I closed up early on Sunday and came home.  They were having a winefest at the same time , so they were all there just to taste the wine.   Won't do that again!!

We washed and went to Big Stone to dry clothes, and on to Norton and shopped some.

Footnote:
Big Stone is a town (with a laundry mat, I guess) about 9 miles from her home and Norton is about 9 miles from Big Stone.

My Note:   I survived another show - it was in a nice town - LaGrange, Ky.   The town was lovely, full of little antique shops, cafes and gift shops.  The interesting thing I found was the railroad tracks that run right thru the middle of town and there are 33 freight trains that travel thru town every day.  The graffiti on the trains was amazing.  The train traveled very slow thru town so it was fun to watch the graffiti show as it passed by.  It is the main line between Louisville and Cincinnati - been there for years and the town was built around the tracks.  I heard there was a camper parked on the street in town and the train came thru and took it out.  That is how close the train is to the sidewalk.   It is about 88 miles from Cincinnati, just about 20 miles East of Louisville.   I was tired on Saturday night but not too tired to drive to Louisville to eat at my favorite Vietnamese restaurant - it was worth  the trip.    I'll recover because I have another show I have to set up on Friday in Granville, Ohio (Near Columbus)

Footnote:  Edith is her sister who lives in Big Stone Gap - about 9 miles away.   Edith's kids are Patricia and Doug.  Patricia was living in Whitesburg, Ky.  at that time and I think Doug was living in Kingsport already.  Maybe not though as I think he and Linda got married July 3, 1965  and then they moved into an apartment in Big Stone for awhile.

Footnote:  Janice and Rosemary are her two daughters.  Maxfields was a store/filling station (if I remember correctly) and I think it was in Seminary, about 5 miles away.

My note:  I am going to LaGrange, Kentucky about noon today to set up my tent for a weekend show.  The show is Sat. and Sun.  The weather has been just perfect all week - cool and the sunshine has not been too warm.  That will all change as soon as I get to the park where the show will be.   This is a new show for me.  It is 85 miles from here, just this side of Louisville.   I hope it is a good show.

So I am going to go ahead and post the next two days so I am not behind.

We all went to Patricia Ann & Ron's today at Whitesburg today.  Edith with us too.  It was a hard trip.

Footnote:     Patricia Ann is her niece, Edith's daughter - that's me.   Ron was my husband of two years then and we lived in a mobile home that was parked behind the radio station in Whitesburg Kentucky.  What a way to start!!!.   It was about an hour's drive over the mountain so I hope that is what she thought was hard.    It was a hard place to be living - dirty and dreary - .   We moved that year in the fall to Richmond,  Ky.  when Ron decided he wanted to go to college at Eastern Kentucky, while I supported us working as a social worker for the state.   We had the trailer moved onto the campus and he went to school every day and worked at the radio station on the weekend .  I worked every day and took classes on Saturday.  We did that for a year and he was called to a job in Louisville, Ky.   So we packed that trailer again and moved to a trailer park in Louisville.   I transferred with the state to a social work position in Louisville.  Eventually we bought a house in Louisville.    I loved living in Louisville.   So that is the story of the Mobile home.
