November 10, 1981 Aunt Estelle wrote

Tues.  1981  Fair  warm in evening.

I cooked beans and made pumpkin pies this morning.  Took Jennings some.  We went and mailed Rosemary's Christmas and visited Mrs. Parsons at the hospital, got groceries and got a man to come fix the washer.

Footnote:   Jennings is her brother and she made sure he ate well.  Rosemary is her daughter who lives in New Mexico.  I don't know who Mrs. Parsons was, a friend and neighbor probably.   She sure took time to check on other people.  It seems I am  too busy with my own life to check on my neighbors.   I do manage to run out in the street when I see the EMS/Fire Department drive up next door.  Guess I am just a nosey neighbor and don't bother when things are running smoothly.   I need to do better.  Maybe next year.
