Footnote: Pennington Gap is a small town about 8 miles West of her home. Not sure what that next sentence means but that is the way it is entered in the book. I don't know Mr. Disney but I guess he is a neighbor. Roy and Edith are her brother-in-law and sister. Reba is her sister-in-law. Not sure who or where Marshall is that she got eggs and watermelons. Smith Kevin is her nephew, youngest and cutest(ha) son of her brother, Everette. He is also the youngest of the 12 in the third generation of the Reasor family. He has two daughters so he is no help in carrying on the Reasor name. However, his older brother, Stephen, was successful in doing that as he has two sons, Jonathan and Justin. And our other cousin, Kenneth was also successful in passing on the name as he has three sons, Daniel, David and Michael. I can't remember exactly but I think Daniel and David both have sons. Michael has two daughters. I need to get the birthdates and names of those children that make up the fifth generation. Those of you that read this and have this information, please send me an email statzerart@aol.com.

Janice & Wendi were home. Va. Shuler come visiting. We went to the funeral home late where Mrs. Wainscott and Arthur Burchetti lay corpse. Jennings got back and come in a while.

Her husband, Harold Shuler would have brought her probably. As I said, I don't know who Wainscott and Burchetti were. Jennings is her brother who lives nearby.
My note: I am back home, about 9 PM Sunday night. It was the hottest weekend we have had in years, I think. I was at the show site by 6AM, Saturday and I was wet with sweat by 6:30AM. The humidity was awful and never let up. It rained and stormed really bad Saturday night. I had covered up everything and tied the tent down good so I didn't have any damage. Some other people had water damage. Sunday was even hotter than it was Sat. I kept a wet linen napkin around my neck and that helped to keep me somewhat cool. It was a long two days and the sales were not the best I have had. I might do the show again next year as the people were nice and I love the town. The architecture was just amazing everywhere. This is the town that Cummins Engine plant is in and the town was built by the Miller family. Miller was an engineer and he founded the Cummins Engine company. We were right in the middle of downtown on the street - so the pavement was hot - but the buildings were just awesome. I had a lady in the booth who was buying a doll and I asked if she lived there. She does and is in fact a tour guide and conducts walking tours of the downtown buildings,. She said there were famous architects who designed the buildings but Frank Lloyd Wright was not one of them. Some famous guy from New Mexico did some of the designing. If you are interested, she said to check out the website and it will give you all the info. I will do that. Anyway, I survived.

We talked to Rosemary. I took some cantaloupes over to Ruth's. This eve I went to Olinger for Nancy Reasor's wedding. We heard on news Mrs Wainscott, and Arthur Burchetti both were dead.
Footnote: Rosemary is her daughter who lives in New Mexico. Ruth Reasor is her sister-in-law who lives nearby. Olinger is a small village about 6 miles from her house. I don't remember a Nancy Reasor. Don't know who she is related to. I don't know anything about Mrs. Wainscott or Arthur Burchetti. Could have been some national figures as she said she heard it on the news.
My Note: I am leaving in a few minutes to drive to Columbus, Indiana - about an hour West of here. I will be in a show Sat. and Sunday. Can't set up the booth until 6AM tomorrow, so I am staying in a motel tonight and Sat. night. I have never been in this show so don't know what to expect and I really hate that. Columbus, Indiana is famous for the architecture of their public buildings and some houses. Frank Lloyd Wright designed most of them. So I will be touring around this afternoon having a look at them. I'll let you know what it is like. Might as well see what is there as I may never go back - depending on how much I sell. Have a good weekend and I will catch up on Monday. The hotel has WiFi but I don't want to leave my computer in the room or carry it to the show.

I washed some. dried some more apples. I swept the floors. To prayer meeting tonite
My Note: Well, I am finally back home in Cincinnati. I am sorry about all the missed days of posting but I have had an awful time with my computer. I went to Panera's in Kingsport on Aug. 5 and posted a bunch of days and when I got to Aug. 5, the computer froze up again. I don't know what the guy at Best Buy did but I don't think he did me any favors now. I didn't have time to go back to Best Buy down there as I was in the Virginia Highlands Festival show in Abingdon from Wed. thru Sunday last week. I was too tired to go Mon. or Tue. and I left Wed for home. I went to Best Buy here in Cincinnati and was told that I needed to call my cable company and they told me I needed to call Netgear, the people who make the router. Bottom line, I was on the phone for 2 hrs. 10 min. and was told I had to pay $40.00 for 30 minutes of help - just to get my security code for the router. Leah came and spent another hour and half and got nowhere. So we finally figured out that I could plug the router into my laptop and it would work. So I don't have wireless in the house but I will be able to get the blog done. So I'm going to try to catch up now.

Tues. 1981 Fair hot.
I washed. gathered some more corn. To Missionary Society tonite. Millard & I went to funeral home late to visit the family of Joe Shuler.
Footnote: Missionary Society is a woman's organization that is part of the Deep Springs Baptist church. Millard is her husband. Not sure who Joe Shuler was or if he was part of my Daddy's family. I remember hearing the name and he could have been an uncle to my Daddy - just not sure.
Just a reminder to all the young folks - if you want to know something about the family or your relatives, better be asking them now. We all have a lot of information in our heads that is not written down and it will be gone with us. That is one reason that I think Aunt Estelle's book is important. It does give us some insight in to some of her relatives and people in her neighborhood.

Sunday 1981 Cloudy..
Jennings, Reba, Millard and I went to the Coach House for lunch. Roy, Edith, and Rachel joined us. We come over by the park where the Jake Parsons family were having their reunion.
Footnote: Jennings is her brother and Reba is her sister-in-law, Millard is her husband. Coach House was a nice restaurant in Big Stone Gap. Roy and Edith are her brother-in-law and Edith is her sister. Rachel is Edith and Roy's granddaughter and I can't imagine where Leah was. Maybe she just forgot to write Leah down. Jake Parsons family was neighbors of hers in the Deep Springs area.

Sat. 1981 Fair. not so hot as usual
I washed & swept the floors. I went, alone, to Norton, up the valley and down by Appa.
Footnote: Norton is a town about 15 miles from her home. They have a lot of department stores and businesses. Appa is short for Appalachia, Virginia. It is a coal mining town and is about 10 miles from her home. It is between Big Stone Gap and Norton. Guess no one wanted to make that journey with her.

Friday 1981 Cloudy not so hot.
I washed some. fixed up the corn and took to Jennings freezer. I went to Pennington late to grocery store. Kenneth, Jeaneen and kids come by tonite to say goodbye.
Footnote: Jennings is her brother who lives nearby. Pennington is a town about 8 miles West. Kenneth is her nephew, Jennings son and Jeaneen is his wife. They have 4 children and they live in Iowa.
My note: I tried to finish out July last week and the computer froze up on me and I ended up having to go to Best Buy to get it fixed. Then I just haven't had time to get back to it. Took Mother to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg Thursday. We met Leah and all her family at the Outlet Mall and visited for a while. I took Mother to the motel and she rested while I shopped with the girls. It was so much fun. I picked up Mother and we all went to the Catfish House to eat dinner. We had a really nice time. Leah and family were staying in a big house on Norris Lake for the week. She said it was really nice and the water was so clear. Max was able to catch a lot of "croppies" fish. We drove up thru Gatlinburg again before we came home on Friday.
