Tues.  Fair

We had our Christmas week of prayer program at Valeria Grahams today.   There was a big crowd.

Footnote:   Valeria Graham was a fellow church member and a neighbor.  Wouldn't you like to know the names of all the women there.

So I have finished out November and looking forward to her "doings" in December.   Hope you are all well.     I have a busy day ahead so I've got to get it going.  Picking up Max and Hope and going to Michaels for something Hope wants and then to Half Price Book store for something Max wants and then to the Cincinnati Museum center to see the Lego exhibit.  Then I'm taking them to Findlay Market for lunch.  It will be a fun day - sunny but cold.    (they know when I'm "in the money".

Footnote:  I remember a church somewhere between her house and Dryden - I think that is what they called the lower church.  Stell Kelly is her good friend from church and she is a neighbor.

I kept the car and went to the laundry mat and over to the hospital to get my blood checked.

Footnote:   I think that Uncle Millard had to find a way to work so she could have the car.  He worked in Big Stone Gap so I'm sure there were lots of people going that way.    Funny we wouldn't think of doing that now, we would just buy another car.   money or not!!

I worked in the house.  Janice & Sammy come and Janice & I went back to town.  Janice stayed all nite and we went up to the sale at Maxfield's awhile.

Footnote:    Janice is her daughter and Sammy is Janice's husband.  Maxfields was a store/filling station and I guess he had a building where he auctioned off things.  Would love to go to that tonight.

Well I have had a very busy couple of weeks and it is not over yet - one more show to do Dec. 5/6 - here in one of the suburbs.  Had a great show - best sales ever - last Saturday.  Got orders to fill before the next show and more new things to get finished.   I hope each of you have a great Thanksgiving as you gather with those you love and give thanks for another year.  Some of us have had our trials this year and we are thankful that we pulled thru.   We should all pray for our cousins that are struggling now.  Have a grateful Thanksgiving.

Uncle Hop & Uncle Henry Meade come out and I went down to Aunt Rose's with them.   Later went to Big Stone with Uncle Millard Baker to get groceries.

Footnote:  Hop Slemp is married to Rose Baker Slemp and they live on the back road near her house.  Uncle Henry Meade is from Flint,  Michigan and he is married to Jeanette Baker Meade - Aunt Rose's sister and Aunt Estelle's mother's sister.    Uncle Millard Baker is the brother of Rose, Jeanette and half-brother to Lula Baker Reasor, Estelle's mother.

My note:   I am getting ready for my last two shows this year, so I am pretty busy.  I saw on facebook that Carey Drew, Rosemary's husband, has had knee surgery again.  He is in Odessa, Texas and that is a 90 minute drive from Hobbs.  So Rosemary, I am thinking about you as you make that drive and am hoping you get him back home soon.   Also saw on social media that Freddie Gay fell and has broken 3 ribs.  He is the husband of Betty Jean and the father of Becky .  We are keeping him in our thoughts also.   Talked to my mother, Edith Shuler, and she is doing just fine.  Having trouble sleeping at night  she says and I'm sure it is because she sleeps a lot during the day.    My granddaughter, Leslie, will deliver her baby boy by C-section on Dec. 8 if not before.  She is a diabetic and has gained a lot of weight.  She is a small boned body and Dr. says the baby is too big for her to deliver.  Keep her in your thoughts as we go thru this risky time.   I hear that Janice is going to Wendy's condo in Florida and is cooking Thanksgiving dinner.  Wish I could be there with them.  According to Mother, Kenneth and Jeananne may join them.  Kenneth and Jeananne stopped to see Mother on their way to Florida - where they spend the winter.  Seems they are not too far away from where Janice will be.   I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and will be with all those you love.

Patricia Shuler Statzer come to see me.  Ruth & Smith were in too.

Footnote:  Well that is me,  I loved to visit her and did every chance I got.  I must have been home visiting and stopped to see her on my way back to Richmond, Ky.  I think that is where I was living then.   We moved there in the fall of 1965 so Ron could go to Eastern Kentucky State full time and I could work full time.  What a deal.  He went to school all week and worked at a radio station on the weekends and I worked for the State as a social worker all week and went to college on Saturday.  That only lasted a year when he was offered a full time newsman position at a big radio station in Louisville.  So we packed that mobile home again and moved it to Louisville.    (we bought the mobile home when we got married and parked it behind the radio station in Whitesburg, Ky. in 1963.)  We packed it up and had it moved to Richmond and then again to Louisville.   We eventually sold it - the monthly payments were $65.00.     A newsman that Ron worked with in Louisville got a job in St. Louis and wanted to get rid of his house so we gave him $1000.00 and took over the payments on a cute 3 bedroom house in Louisville.   I loved that house and cried all the way to the lawyers office when we had to sell it.  We were moving to Cincinnati for yet another newsman job at an even bigger radio station.  Oh I could go on and on.

My Note:     I have been very busy and had to get my priorities in order in the last week.   I came home from the Alabama show with orders for 15 dolls and I had to get them in the mail before I could do anything else.   So I mailed 12 of them Friday and have 3 left to finish.  So hopefully I can get back on schedule.  Also my computer is so slow that sometimes I don't have the patience to wait for it to get going.    I have two more shows for sure and one I am waiting to hear from.  So I still have lots of work waiting to be done.  Not sure how many I am going to do next year as it is getting harder and harder to put that tent up by myself.  Maybe I will just do indoor shows.   I do love the outdoor shows though.  We will see how it goes.
