I got Benton Kelly to set out the pepper today.  Allso had 3 1/2 crates of berries picked.

Footnote:   Benton Kelly is a neighbor and farmer.  I think he is the one that we always got watermelons from.   He had a sharp knife and would stick it in the watermelon and cut a small square and pull it out to see if the watermelon was ripe.  It was called "Plugging"  and it was the best bite.

Footnote:   Pearl Reasor Barkley is her cousin.  Aunt Rose is her mother's half-sister.  Linda Salley is now married to Doug Shuler - Estelle's nephew.  I think they didn't get married until July of 1965.

I am going downtown to have lunch on the river with Hope and her class.  They are visiting the Underground Railroad Museum which is downtown on the river and they will then go to Sawyer Point - a park on the river for lunch..    Then I am going for a pedicure and to Barnes and Noble for a fix and then to Leah's for the weekend.  Leah and Kenny are going camping at Laurel Lake, near London, Ky.  with his very large family and Max doesn't want to go.   So I will stay with him and the dogs.  We will hit all the yard sales in the morning - Sat.  His favorite thing to do.  He is very easy to stay with so I will be able to stuff a lot of dolls.    So I will catch up on the blog on Tues. when I get back home.

Footnote:  Glenna (I can't remember her maiden name) was married to Larry Flanary.  They lived on the river in Dryden.  She was a very pretty girl as I remember her in high school.  Larry was a good looking guy too.  They had one daughter and somehow she got away from the house and drowned in the river.  She was young - maybe 5 or 6.  Larry's mother was watching her and she never got over the accident (according to my mother).   It was a terrible tragic event in the neighborhood.

My Note:  We had a great trip to Las Vegas.  Left early last Thursday and rented a car a got to the big house that Leah had rented.  She rented it for the wedding reception when Leslie had planned to be married there.  When that all fell thru, Leah decided rather than lose the deposit on the house, we would all just go and enjoy it.    Big 5 bedrooms, several bathrooms, swimming pool and hot tub, basketball court, ping pong, pool, mini golf course and lots of tables and chairs around the barbecue grill.   We went to the grocery and did a lot of cooking there.   Sunday we went to the Cirque du Soleil to see the Beatles show.   It was great and Max loved it all.  He is a big Beatles music fan.
We got home on the "red eye" flight about 6:30 this morning.   So I am a little tired.

We picked berries all morn.

Footnote:  Don't know who all picked berries and what kind of berries.

My  Note:   I  decided to publish ahead because I am going to Las Vegas early in the morning (May 7) with Leah, Kenny, Max and Leslie.  Amanda and her husband are coming later in the day.  We are going to stay for a long weekend.  Leah had rented a big house when Leslie was planning her wedding there on May 9.  When the wedding got cancelled, Leah decided we would just go stay in the house anyway, rather than lose a big deposit.  So I won't be back until Tuesday.     We all need a break so it should be nice.   House has lots of rooms and swimming pool.  We are going to see the Beatles Cirque De Sole (sp)show  Sunday.  Max wanted to do that.    May hit the outlet mall.  Otherwise, just hanging out.  So sorry that Rachel and Dave and Hope are not going.

I hoed the strawberries.  Went up to Aunt Minnie's awhile also stopped at Mollie's to visit some.

Footnote:  Not sure if "hoed" is the right word, I can't read her writing sometimes.   I remember Aunt Minnie living just up the road from Estelle's house.  I don't know if she was a relative or not, not sure why we called her Aunt.  I believe she was Carey Drew's Aunt - Carey Drew is Rosemary's husband.  Rosemary is Estelle's daughter that lives in New Mexico.  I don't remember the whole story but I think Carey was visiting from New Mexico where he lived and he was visiting Aunt Minnie and that is when Rosemary met him.  I could be all wrong and somebody will call and let me know if I am.

I don't know who Mollie was.  I remember   a couple of Mollie's in the neighborhood - Mollie Ward and Mollie Delph buy I don't know who she was visiting.
